I have had the knife for a few weeks now. It has stayed pretty sharp and has a good weight to it. I really do think this is a good knife for work.Comfortable sharp and very nice in my handThe knife is similar to the black one that I bought, however, when the blade is closed it doesn't sit snuggly in place, it moves a little bit; it doesn't sit as far into the hilt as the other one I bought from another site. It slightly bugs me, but it's otherwise an awesome knife. Just to keep in mind though: you do want to take good care of this knife making sure to clean it regularly, otherwise you're wasting your money, just like with any knife. I say this, because the knife is stainless steal and can be more easily damaged than more expensive titanium knives by things such as salt water.I wasn't sure what the locking mechanism was like, couldn't tell from the picture, but it's different from what I was hoping for. That aside, I don't mind the locking mechanism, as the knife can be closed with one hand, just like it can be opened easily enough with one hand; that's one thing I like about this knife, once you're used to it, using your thumb you can quickly open this knife with one hand so you can get to work right away. The knife is sharp, the serrated edge works well, and the clip holds the knife snug in my pocket like I hoped. All in all it's a nearly perfect knife, the issue of the blade not sitting perfectly snug in the handle; my black model did not have this issue, I may try taking it apart and cleaning it to resolve the issue; to note, this isn't a big negative, as the tip of the blade just sits inside the handle, though it is a bit close to sticking out.Gift for ChristmasNeeded a new short knife to replace a Buck Ranger 112 that I lost on a job site. As a long time fan of Buck, I decided to go with this blade with a lighter weight as a primary concern. Additionally, I wanted something a little less pricey than the Ranger 112 (which I was fairly upset to lose) in case of loss or theft. The knife itself is of decent quality. It's far lighter than my Buck 110 Folding Hunter and even a fair bit lighter than my Ranger 112 was. The one-handed open is nice, although it's not a very fast deployment method. Practice has smoothed out the open movement, but it's still pretty slow to open. The matte finish is nice for not attracting the undue attention a shiny knife tends to draw. The blade is sharp straight out of the box and has a nice serrated edge as well, making it an acceptable all-around knife choice for daily carry. My disappointment really comes from the fact that it's manufactured in China. No other Buck knife I've ever purchased was made in China--all were US made. I was a bit frustrated that even Buck's own website neglects to mention the country of manufacture, despite claims on the site to be committed to domestic manufacture. It just seems a little disingenuous on Buck's part to omit such info. But the knife is passable and serves its purpose as a work knife. The lower cost and Chinese origin make it less of a loss if it goes missing at work, and cheaper to replace. But as far as quality goes? One is probably better off with the domestic-made Buck knives like the 110 or 112. Still, a decent knife at a decent price. It does it's job as needed.Really sad that Buck now outsources their stuff to China. I wish I could say it doesn't make a big difference but it does.I have a Buck "USA" from 15 years ago, that I still use every day, and I absolutely love it. I've had it "serviced" by buck over the years, and even had it re-bladed once only a couple years after I bought it, cause I snapped the tip off doing something dumb.Anyway, I needed to send my old Buck in for a sharpening and cleaning, and because I use it so much these days (I'm a plumber, and literally use my knife all day every day) I figured I'd get one to use while mine is away and the price was right.I did consider buying a Benchmade this go, when I saw "imported" on the description, but I've always been loyal to Buck and decided to go ahead with it.I can guarantee that this knife will not last me even a few months let alone over a decade like my current one (and not worth sending it in over and over again). After using it just a couple of days, I may need to send it in for a new blade, or now that I'm thinking of it, might just return it to Amazon. There is a pretty good bend in the edge that I don't think will go with a sharpening, and all I was doing with it was cutting a plastic toilet shim against tile (something I do a few times a week with my old knife). This knife feels great in your hand, and is the perfect size and weight. Also looks spiffy, and was nice and sharp out of the box, but you could probably run it against your cheek without a cut after a week of regular use.The only reason I gave this a couple stars instead of none is that I still want to love Buck, and I owe them some loyalty for my old knife. Also, I think it could be a good knife for a kid or summer hiker or something that doesn't use it daily.for the money it is well worth it.it's light and easy to carry esp w/ the removable clip.takes awhile to break in so it will open w/the thum stud.i nearly wore the skin off my thumb breaking it in so it would open smoothly as the thumb stud is really ruff and could use a lil visit from a file.the only real drag isthat the part of the frame that springs over to lock the blade in placequickly looses some of its spring,so,if u are realy going to be using it for something ruff u kind of have to hold pressure on the lock w/ your index finger to keep the blade solidly locked w/ no play.it locks in place w/ out the pressure but there is a little bit of play and i reeeeeally like my fingers so i keep my index pressed on it.finish looks super cool.the quality of the blade is worth the price alone.not perfect but compared to some of the blades i have seen it looks and feels like a way higher quality.i purchased something else at the same time and used the free shipping option so it took a good 2 weeks to get.velocissima la consegna,Adoro questo prodotto,è pratico e maneggevole,e ne ho avuti ben 4, (fra persi e regalati a parenti gelosi),ed il secondo da altro venditore lo pagai più di 50 €.Pesa 134 grammi,è lungo 12 cm da chiuso e 19 da aperto e spesso 1cm o 1.3 cm con la comoda clips da cinghia. La leva di sblocco e piccole imperfezioni da utilizzo ne sono diretta testimonianzaSchönes Messer, leider auch nicht made in Amerika, sondern made in China. Steht auch auf der Klinge. Die Verarbeitung des Messers ist gut. Die Schärfe der Klinge geht grad so.
